Read650, a forward-thinking, fast-paced non-profit organization has a position available for an intern with a strong understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms. We’re currently redesigning our website and marketing collateral and preparing to launch a social media campaign.

Read650’s Social Media / Marketing Intern will need strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate with our vibrant and passionate team, and will collaborate frequently with our Graphic Design Intern who will create much of our online and print collateral. As former interns ourselves, we’re eager to share this launch with an intern hoping to gain extensive online experience, professional mentoring, and college credits.


  • Contribute to website redesign project

  • Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks

  • Assist with content development as well as online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more

  • Schedule social posts using program such as Hootsuite



  • Marketing/Business, Communications, or a related major

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with Internet and social media platforms

  • Solid understanding of literary events and diverse audiences

  • Interest in literature, literary news, writers, and the arts

  • Energetic and creative self-starter with strong organizational skills

  • Hard-working and team-oriented
