Read650 founder and editor Edward McCann is a writer whose features and essays have been published in national magazines and literary journals including Milieu, The Sun, The Irish Echo, and many others. An award-winning television writer/producer and longtime contributing editor at Country Living, Ed’s essay, “Pregnant Again,” was selected for the anthology, Listen To Your Mother, published by Putnam. He lives and writes in New York’s Hudson River Valley.
Read650 co-founder and executive producer Richard Kollath is an artist and designer who began his career as a university painting, drawing, and art history instructor. After a decade of arts research in India and Pakistan, Richard formed his own company to create design features for national magazines including Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Good Housekeeping and others. A longtime contributing editor at Country Living and the author of several published books, Richard frequently appeared on network television as well as Lifetime, Discovery, and QVC. For over twenty years, Richard and Ed have produced books, magazine features, television segments, and events from their studio and office in New York’s Hudson River Valley.
Read650 Senior Editor and Literary Ombudsman Steven Lewis is a columnist at Talking Writing, a member of the Sarah Lawrence College Writing Institute faculty, and a longtime freelancer whose work has been published widely, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, Ploughshares, Spirituality & Health and many others. His books include Zen and the Art of Fatherhood, The ABCs of Real Family Values, and Fear and Loathing of Boca Raton (a Hippie’s Guide to the New Sixties). His novels include Take This, Loving Violet, and A Hard Rain, published by Codhill Press. He lives, writes, and kayaks in New York’s Hudson River Valley and North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Jane Kaupp leads strategic marketing and communications for Read650. With twenty years of experience marketing mass consumer brands such as Comcast, NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, BusinessWeek, Wired, Golf Digest and Woman’s Day, Jane brings to Read650 her expertise in brand positioning, new product launches, audience and sales development, communications, social media, event sponsorships, and partnerships. She is also the co-founder and CEO of Monarch + Viceroy, a consulting firm that coaches and supports leaders and organizations to grow through brand, marketing and operational strategy, as well as goal setting and productivity coaching. Jane holds a B.A. in English Creative Writing from City University of New York at Hunter College and lives in Centerport, New York with her husband and two children.
Read650 Design Director and brand strategist Diane Fokas thrives on all things visual and she’s passionate about crafting intentional and impactful visual solutions for entrepreneurs and small businesses. When Diane isn't designing, you’ll find her hiking with her dog, cooking, reading, and watching movies with her family. In addition to her annual trips back to her motherlands of the Netherlands and Greece, Diane loves taking road trips here in the USA.
Read650 Director of Photography Kevin O’Connor holds a degree in Digital Media Production from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Media production is Kevin’s passion, and his work in the film and broadcast industries have been recognized for their storytelling and production value. Kevin has worked at Atlanta’s prestigious WSB-TV and with radio great Jim Metzner; a recent graduate the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation’s Technology Apprenticeship Program, he’s currently a freelance media producer in the New York tri-state region.
Read650 Chief Audio Engineer Jesse Chason is a graduate of the Music Industry program at State University of New York at Oneonta where he focused on audio production. His company, Glass Wave Productions, provides audio and media services throughout the Hudson River Valley and the New York tri-state area. Jesse manages audio at many live events and theaters, and he composes audio content for commercial licensing, producing, recording music, post production mixing and mastering. He also manages the studio at The Photographers Place.
Read650 Technical Advisor Conrad Trautmann is Senior Vice President of Technology and Operations for Cumulus Media, Inc., parent company of the Westwood One Radio Network, and his decades of experience in radio production and engineering helps Read650 maintain the highest quality sound. He’s overseen the production of large-scale radio events such as the Olympics in Sydney, Salt Lake City, Athens, Torino, Beijing, Vancouver, London, and Sochi, coverage of all political conventions and elections since 2000, and radio production and national distribution of the Grammy Awards, the NFL regular season and Super Bowl, the Academy of Country Music Awards and the NCAA Sweet 16 and Final Four. Recognized as one of the nation’s most admired radio engineers six times by Radio Ink magazine, Conrad is also award-winning and accomplished author, contributing technical articles since 1988 to Radio World and Radio Magazine.
